Kevin Farrell is the founder of Mental Bullpen, a high-performance coaching and resilience brand that merges mental readiness with physical performance.
He is a Master Trainer for the Road to Mental Readiness (R2MR) program, the gold standard in Canadian Armed Forces mental health and resilience education, and a seasoned coach who has guided athletes and professionals from the diamond to the national stage and beyond.
With more than 25 years of experience across sport, public safety, and tactical training, Kevin has developed a rare dual expertise: helping people think, move, and perform under pressure.
Whether it’s a pitcher on the mound, a lifter on the platform, or a first responder in a crisis, his work centers on one mission; building strength where it matters most: inside and out.
⚾ A Coach’s Coach - Decades in the Game
Kevin began coaching baseball in the early 1990s, developing players who competed across Provincial, Atlantic and National Championships.
A lifelong catcher, trained under Tony Flood, he developed an obsession with the technical and mental demands of the position.
His expertise in catching mechanics, defensive strategy, and leadership from behind the plate became the foundation for his approach to athlete development: disciplined, detail-oriented, and grounded in communication.
Through decades of coaching, Kevin built a reputation for developing complete athletes, blending technical skill, physical conditioning, and mental resilience. His players and teams are known not just for their performance, but for their focus, accountability, and toughness in adversity.

Kevin’s strength background extends far beyond the field.

🔥 Training the Protectors — Corrections and Tactical Instruction
For over a decade, Kevin worked directly with Newfoundland and Labrador Corrections, leading large-scale training for every staff member in the province.
He taught and developed programming in:
His unique background as both a tactical instructor and mental health educator allowed him to create holistic training systems that prepared staff for what to do, and how to stay composed while doing it.
These programs evolved into a broader mission: bringing the science of stress and performance to Public Safety Personnel (PSP), firefighters, police, paramedics, and emergency responders, across Canada and internationally.
Today, Kevin continues to deliver R2MR-based resilience and performance programs through R2MR Public, training first responders, instructors, and organizational leaders in how to recognize, manage, and perform within operational stress environments.

As a St. John Ambulance Certified Instructor for over a decade, Kevin taught first aid, emergency management, and critical incident response to professionals across multiple industries.
